Overview

Kiev Grand Ballet | Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare's most famous love story. The confrontation of two families and blinding love has become the saddest story in the world, as well as a true hymn to love. The story of two young people, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, who love each other despite their families' hatred of each other.
There are countless plays, films and musicals based on this work, but the most famous interpretation is Sergei Prokofiev's ballet, presented here by the Kiev Grand Ballet.
The choreography reveals all the pomp and violence, where earthiness and beauty mingle, restoring the passion of Shakespeare's drama.

Host portrait

Sanary-sur-Mer's Théâtre Galli, originally known as the “Cité de la Jeunesse”, was transformed into a multi-purpose space in the 1960s, hosting sporting events, shows and religious services. In 1977, Abbé Galli donated the space to the commune. Major renovations took place in the 1980s and 1990s, modernizing the facilities. The theater was named in honor of Abbé Georges Galli after his death in 1982. Since then, it has continued to evolve with constant improvements to offer quality shows.
